There are very few things in life that are dead center. Three of them are 1955 Ford Pickups, B.B. King, and Dry-Fly Fishing.

Children's Program
For kids ages 4 to 12 years old.
Offered only on weekdays. Children's Program is included for our Run of the Ranch and American Plan guests. For our Fisherman's Holiday & Freedom Getaway guests the cost is $25/child per three hour session. |
| Harmel's knows kids! Our counselors don't just babysit, we lead youngsters through a full course of educational fun! Every day kids find a new exciting challenge, nature hikes to learn to collect rocks, track animals, and learning about the mountains. With these skills we play "find the flag" (and learn not to get lost). Art & Crafts day; finger paint, make squirrel feeders, imaginations are encouraged! Swimming pool day with lots of water games. Fishing day at the "Big Trout Pond" is sure to entertain kids of all ages, or a trip to the stables to meet the wranglers and check out the horses. Children's movie day in the recreation lounge/Family Room is always a hit with our "G" rated favorites. |

The Fort Harmel/Teepee Village (pictured above) is kid central on the ranch. We start our days at the rec. lounge, now the new "Harmel's Family Room" (pictured left). We have taken out the video games and the old pool table, put in a new floor and re-arranged for more card & game tables, a new pool table (no quarters required), all in all more of a family oriented environment. We offer two sessions of the Children's Program per day; 9:00am to noon and 1:00pm to 4:00pm. This allows the adults in your group to schedule trail rides, whitewater rafting or guided fishing lessons; things that may be too adventurous for our younger guests. |

Assistant Wrangler Program |
|
For kids 8 years old and above.
Assistant wranglers get up early and join Harmel's ranch hands for breakfast at 7:00am in the dining room. Each day children may work at the stables as a junior wrangler. They will learn how to halter, brush, feed, saddle, and care for the horses. They will have the opportunity to ride on the trails as an assistant guide. This is a wonderful program for children interested in learning about horses and gaining hands-on experience at the stables. Kids eight and older (adults do it, too!) are welcome to join the wranglers for a half day at $50.00 or a full day at $100.00 per person.
*Charges are included for the Run of the Ranch Plan. |

Not all of our activities will be appropriate for all children. For instance, a three year old advanced toddler must be able to keep up with a group of six and seven year olds to participate on hiking day and your child must be able to swim to participate on swimming pool day. Therefore; we offer babysitting by the hour to accommodate infants and toddlers.
Babysitting costs $10.00/hour/child and $5.00/hour/additional child in one family.
Harmel's Children's Program counselors are chosen for their talents and experience. Many are actively pursuing degrees in education. Our talented staff will keep your kids protected and safe while parents take a "day off"! |
