Driving Directions: How to get to Harmel's Ranch Resort

Once you have reached Gunnison on 50 highway, turn North on 135 (going towards Almont and Crested Butte) drive for approximately 11 miles.  At Almont turn East (right) onto County Road 742.  Drive for six miles up the beautiful Taylor Canyon and enter Harmel's big gate! Quicky Directions from: Denver International Airport (going over Monarch Pass) Monarch Pass takes a little longer than Cottonwood Pass but the road is paved the entire way with passing lanes going uphill, better road signs, and more gaurd rails.  If you need to stop by Wal-Mart or the super market in Gunnison before coming to the ranch, this would be the best route to take.  The drive takes approximately 3 1/2 to 4 hours. Airport Exit on Pena Blvd. I-70 West  470 South 285 South 24 South 50 West (Gunnison, follow directions above)   Denver (going over Cottonwood Pass) This Pass cuts off about 30 to 45 minutes of your time, making it approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours.  Take care, especially if you are not used to mountain driving.  The Pass is paved on the Buena Vista side, and the Gunnison side is dirt (sometimes washboard).  It's an exceptional drive with a great possiblity of viewing wildlife.  Take your time and remember the uphill driver has the right of way for mountain driving etiquette.  I-70 West 470 South 285 South 24 North at Johnson Village to Buena Vista Turn left at light with the sign reading "Cottonwood Pass" At the end of Cottonwood Pass take a left on the paved road (County Road 742) Follow CR 742 for approximately 20 miles to Harmel's Ranch Resort.   Colorado Springs This drive is approximately 3 to 3 1/2 hours to Harmel's Ranch Resort. 115 South 50 West (Gunnison, follow directions above)   From Denver through Leadville This way takes approximately 4 hours to Harmel's Ranch Resort.
